Making decisions together

Before you decide to live in a condo, you have to know that there will be a Homeowners Association or HOA, where most homeowners gathered for a meeting for the betterment of the community. And since you are living in that particular community, you should also be prepared to make or share some opinions with another residence in the place. That means, your opinions or decisions will also affect the other residents of the building. Moreover, most of your decisions will be made jointly.

Don’t take this as a bad thing to have. In fact, being one of the members of the Homeowners Association of the place is an opportunity for you to have. Of course, you can meet potential people who can help make the community even better for you to live. If there are any improvements of the place or any programs you need to, it is not just other homeowners who can benefit from it – also you.

Condo may include other fees

Aside from your down payment, bills and expenses, there are also other fees you are obliged to pay. Of course, you are already a homeowner of the place. It is your responsibility to follow any rules and regulations, especially when it comes to financial matters. That means you have to be prepared whenever the association tell you that you that there will be some sinking fund to make for this particular project. Of course, you are part of the team, so you should also follow the policy.

Usually, when your association wants you to pay extra fees, it is for the betterment of the community. Or perhaps, they want to help a particular foundation and want you to also extend a helping hand. If you are too much concerned about where your money goes, you can definitely ask to have some open book on where and how the money was spent. Of course, it is your right as the homeowner to know what is going on with the community.
